The Ferengi are a group of galactic businessmen from the planet Ferenginar and led by their leader the Grand Nagus. The focus of the Ferengi Alliance is to spread the influence of the Ferengi and to conduct trade, both legal and illegal. Because of their focus on commerce most of the space aboard a Ferengi ship is geared towards cargo space and weapons to protect said cargo.
While originally being its own faction with the release of the second edition rules in 2017, the Ferengi were changed to being a sub-faction of the Independents Faction. This was done to increase playability for the Faction while still being able to retain its identity within the Star Trek Universe.
