The Xindi are a collection of five (formerly six) species that all evolved on the same planet within the Delphic Expanse. After the destruction of their homeworld, Xindus, the five remaining Xindi species were left scattered. Despite a desire to seek a new homeworld the Xindi remained divided about how to accomplish this goal and which species would ultimately be in charge of the others. In 2153 the Xindi attempted to destroy the Earth after being told of the threat of humanity to the future of the Xindi people. After a year long conflict, the threat of Earths destruction was averted and peace was achieved thanks to the work of Captain Jonathon Archer and his crew. The military forces of the Xindi are dominated by the Reptilian and Insectoid species and while the Primate, Arboreal and Aquatic species also possess military capabilities they typically rely on the Reptilians and Insectoids.
Originally released as its own Faction after the release of the Second Edition Rules in 2017 the Xindi were merged with the Independents Faction.
